On Saturday, November 9, 2024, Bedford Hills Fire Department members attended the Town of Bedford Veterans Day Celebration. The event featured Vintage Military Displays, a USMA Military Police Honor Guard, a Veterans Slide Show Tribute, the Girl Scouts Dotted Half-Notes Choir, Service Organization Tables, Holiday Cards for Deployed Troops, and a USMC Toys for Tots Collection. BHFD’s own Chaplin Christopher Hurley, a retired Commander with the United States Navy, delivered the invocation and benediction for the ceremony. On behalf of his son, Captain Patrick Hurley, Commander Hurley presented BHFD with a shadow box containing among other items, a U.S. Flag that was flown on U.S. Military vehicles in Iraq during Operation Inherent Resolve. This special gift to the Department was in recognition for the care package drive that BHFD coordinated last year for Captain Hurley and the troops in the U.S. Army - 10th Mountain Division. BHFD would also like to recognize our members for their prior military service: United States Air Force: United States Army: United States Army – National Guard: United States Coast Guard: United States Marine Corps: United States Navy: Royal Navy (United Kingdom): |
