Firefighter Joseph Liburdi Jr. - Graduates Firefighter 1
By Chief of Department Jason Nickson
January 25, 2019
The Bedford Hills Fire Dept. would like to congratulate Joseph M. Liburdi Jr. on graduating Firefighter I from the Westchester County Fire Training Center. What’s more impressive than the 144 hours of intense training completed, is the long family tradition Firefighter Liburdi is continuing. His father Joseph Liburdi Sr., a Ex-Chief of the Department, has been a member for 37 years.
For 38 years, the Department has also had in the ranks Ex-Chief David Liburdi, brother to Senior and Uncle to Junior. The Liburdi brothers, both consistently top responders during their decades of service, were inspired to join by their father, Ex-Chief Joseph Liburdi. Combined, the family has amassed over 130 years of volunteer service to the Bedford Hills Community with many more to go.
The B.H.F.D. would also like to extend our appreciation to the graduate’s Mother, Wendy Liburdi, for lending her boys whenever the pager goes off.
Congratulations to Joseph and to all the graduates of Class 18-133. We’re looking forward to working mutual aid with you and stay safe.
