On Saturday July 22 at 14:54 hours, 60 Control began to receive reports for a truck fire on Interstate 684 Northbound at Milepost 14.9. While enroute C2031 & C2033 were advised the vehicle was well involved, however the callers were unable to determine how many vehicles or the type of truck were involved.
Upon arrival, it was determined that a full sized pickup truck with a flatbed trailer and muscle car in tow was fully involved. The crew of Engine 199 quickly deployed the front bumper 150' 1 3/4" and was able to knock down the main body of fire. Tanker 5 and Tanker 6 (Katonah FD) assisted 199's crew with overhaul and water supply.
Extinguishment and overhaul of the vehicle and brush fire were complete by 15:42hrs and all Bedford Hills and Katonah companies returned to service without incident.
